When Stillness Wins

Scripture
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
Psalm 46:10

Devotional
There are days when silence feels harder than noise. When the world around you demands speed, busyness, results, and answers before you’ve even asked the questions. You start to chase productivity like it’s progress, confusing motion for meaning.

God invites you to something radical today: stillness. Not a checklist task. Not another strategy. Stillness. The kind that makes you stop scrolling, stop planning, stop rehearsing your next move, and simply listen. That’s where God meets you. That’s where clarity finds your chaos.

Stillness is not passive. It is active trust. It says, “God, I release the need to control this moment so I can see what You’re doing.” When you choose stillness you are saying yes to presence instead of pressure. You are saying yes to God instead of your to-do list.

You do not have to fix everything today. You do not have to have answers before you pray. You can be still long enough to let God show you who you are beside your tasks, your image, your expectations. In that stillness, you begin to see clearly what God has always seen: you are enough for today.

Prayer
God, help me slow down and rest in You. Teach me how to be still even when my mind wants to run ahead. Help me hear Your voice above every other demand. Amen.

  3. What might change if I trusted God with my next step instead of forcing one myself?
