The Depth of His Mercy

There is a quiet limit we sometimes place on God without realizing it. We pray carefully. We ask modestly. We hope, but we brace ourselves just in case the answer is no.

That limit does not come from Him. It comes from us.

God is inexhaustible in riches and mercy. That means His supply does not thin out. His grace does not run low. His goodness does not depend on timing, behavior, or worthiness. He does not ration blessings or measure mercy with a tight hand.

When Scripture says He is rich in mercy, it is not poetic language. It is a statement of capacity. He has more than enough, always.

Whatever you ask, expect that He will do that and more. Not because every request looks exactly the way you imagine, but because His answers come from abundance, not scarcity. He gives beyond the minimum. He moves beyond what you can calculate. He sees outcomes you cannot yet imagine.

Sometimes we ask for relief, and He brings restoration.
Sometimes we ask for provision, and He brings redirection.
Sometimes we ask for strength, and He gives peace that steadies us first.

If you have been praying small because you feel tired, worn down, or unsure, this is your reminder. God is not exhausted by your needs. He is not annoyed by repetition. He is not limited by your past or afraid of your future.

Ask boldly. Expect generously. Trust that His “more” may stretch you, grow you, or shift you, but it will never leave you lacking.

You are not asking a reluctant God.
You are approaching a generous one.

Reflection:
Where have you been holding back your prayers out of fear, disappointment, or habit? What would it look like to ask again, fully believing He has more than enough for you?

Quiet Prayer:
God, help me trust Your abundance. Expand my expectations. Teach me to ask with confidence and wait with faith. Amen.
